FAQs – Frequently Asked QuestionsQ1: Why is the oil filter “dry” and not pre-filled with oil?A: Our oil filter is intentionally shipped dry to ensure safer transportation and to give you full control over the oil you use. This allows you to select your preferred oil brand and type, maintaining consistency and purity in your engine's lubrication system.Q2: Can mixing different oil brands really cause problems?A: Yes. Different oil brands have varying formulations and additive packages. Mixing them can reduce lubrication efficiency, cause sludge buildup, and accelerate engine wear. We strongly recommend always using the same oil brand and type throughout your engine.Q3: Do I need to pre-fill the oil filter before installation?A: No. When replacing your oil filter, we recommend draining all the old oil first, then adding approximately 2 quarts of fresh oil. About 0.8 quarts will naturally enter the new filter during the first startup, while the remaining 1.2 quarts will stay in the engine for lubrication. This method ensures the entire system runs on clean, consistent oil and avoids contamination from mixed oil types.
